The body craves comfort, but comfort erases purpose

Earthly bonds vs purpose

Once there was a pompous king who inherited a profound quantity of wealth from the past rulers . The major part of his wealth was the 3500 acre of estate , that once belonged to the humble farmers but was snatched away from them by brute force.

On this vast estate , there were countless orchards that brought endless revenue stream to the king . The irony over here is that the laborers who toiled on this land for their daily wages are the descendants of the farmers who actually owned this land .

For years , the king was deluded by the illusion of control . But one day , when the king was strolling in the orchards , he observed a completely burnt tree . He inspected it but dismissed it as a trivial issue .

Soon as the days passed , the fire engulfed many trees at once , which immediately caught the king’s attention . he began losing his sleep over this orchard fire . He suspected his men , the ministers and even his own brother of a possible siege . He labeled everyone as a rival in his mind .

What provided him comfort , now sucked the peace out of him . His health began to deuterate , the weight of the ownership broke his sense of reality and loyalty . One day , the moment of clarity arrived and king wrote the letter to his laborers declaring that all of the 3500 acres would be returned back to them for what their predecessors had lost .

Soon after this decision , the orchards owned him and the fire died . The legend says he was never seen in his palace anymore . There were people who say that he was seen flying in the free sky -released from the shackles of the earthly possession .

The attachment towards worldly possession always feel alluring . This attachment always offers you wealth , safety and comfort . Initially it may feel good like a hut saving from rain , an orchard bearing sweet fruit , but soon this ownership slowly turns into enslavement .

The more we get attached to it , the more sensitive we become . Any scratch to the possession makes you feel it is targeted to yourself . We get trapped in the illusion of ownership thus we hold it more tightly to get more control . But in reality , it is the possession that controls us . It makes us vulnerable , suspicious and restless .

Why does it take so much time to realize the purpose of life ? Life always comes at you in the form of an experience rather than a lesson . This is why , when you are little you get allured by colors , warmth and fables .

As you become youth , you get seduced by possessions , ambitions and admiration . We get trained by the world to chase the shiny object not what is sustainable in nature . But as the time goes by , the thrill of possession slowly fades , comfort starts to feel sedentary . You begin to realize the bigger picture in life .

Realization takes time because your ego tries to resist it . Over here , time takes the role of a sculpture , carving your soul into humility through betrayal , mistakes and loses . The fog of illusion wears of and purpose of life emerges which is – not to accumulate but to align .

All the ill-intentions like jealousy ,suspicion , restlessness born to the shadows of possession start to fade away . Your decisions are no longer swayed by the fear of loss or lust of gain . You tend to start treating people without any hidden calculations .

You are basically untouched by world’s fluctuations . When purpose rises above possession, the body is freed from restlessness and the mind from illusion. What felt like loss becomes the first taste of true liberation.
